Meeting notes:
The regularly scheduled meet - up event for Saturday the 18th of August.
Nothing major to speak of, as myself and out going president Dave were present. Lots to discuss but folks who needed to be there to discuss them weren’t present. The whole point was to talk about getting up to NDK and how to save money in the process. There are two main groups involved here as I would include JAC from UCCS but I have not heard anything from them. The two groups currently being Anime Meet – Up Group # 539 and A.N.I.M.E. Club.
The idea behind the get together today was to discuss the travel arrangements, as in car pooling, so folks who could not normally attend could do so this time. I have said it before – Silence may be golden to some but that gold is worthless to me. There is a good party in the making with Denver Anime Meet – Up that I would have also liked to have gotten into but interest is needed before it can be discussed.
Hopefully the NDK meeting will be better. I know the folks from Denver are excited to go to the big convention here coming up.

We will do our best to have children’s programming but please remember none of the Club staff is responsible for what others bring. The content is the sole responsibility of the bringers. Also we are not a baby-sitting outfit! Anyone visiting should not just dump their kids (small children) with us ~ PLEASE!
At the beginning of the meeting, and at the lunch break I, your club librarian, will be available for q&a along with one of our intrepid club officers. If a dinner is scheduled for after the meeting ~ that will be the next best time for questions.
*Viewer's Choice can be anything brought in by anybody except Hentai or Anime Music Video's not brought by us. We do take requests though!

No news from the meet – up event for Anime Meet – Up # 539 as of yet for yesterdays event. Denver will be having a viewing meet- up at Big Chris’s place (not sure of the date – see the website for Denver)

High Jinks 197a
Mesu hugs and kisses Tay, “sure thing, I’ll let my mistress know. She is the closest thing I have to a parent.”
Ever since Mesus’ personality has taken on its full measure Raven and Mesu have been getting closer like two sisters rather than master and slave.
Raven, “Ken’s great grandfather, which should prove very interesting for Ken.”
More so than most imagined. He looks like a more sophisticated version of Kappa. However, despite his control over his bad luck power he’s still a well meaning klutz. All get a good natured laugh at his expense as he tries to introduce himself to all the ladies and nearly has a heart attack from noticing how gorgeous they are. It’s easy to see the family resemblance and the relation to Ken. He’s a lot nicer and more people friendly than most folk from his dimension.
Raven sends a fan to the hospital, after he popped out of locker in school and caught her naked. Even while being wheeled into the ambulance he had a smile on his face.
Mo just shakes his head and collects money from various people on the idea of some idiot doing that. He donates it to Ayka’s childrens ward. Tay is beside himself with glee and nearly falls over his crutches. He didn’t quite heal up after his recent adventures and was advised to stay off his feet but was so eager to get Mesu’s answer he went a little overboard.
Summertime
Convention time draws near as last month of High School summer vacation for the new senior class of next year winds down. Raven and Mo get quite a surprise or two as Hikage introduces the two as the latest husband and wife duo to stay at the house. Ken has already had his wedding and the Kumichi clan lets all guests know that Mo and Raven’s as well as Sye and Jahna’s wedding will take place on the grounds. Mo’s mom will be coordinating the wedding for Mo’s wedding while Mrs. Kumichi has her son’s wedding. The catering will be provided for free by The Jinryoko family of caterers.
Mo’s latest masterpiece of hard work is unveiled on the opening ceremony as part of a 2 hour sneak preview.
The cosplay contest runs as usual right after as all congratulate the engaged couples. Pei, as always, is running around like a chicken with her head cut off. A red squirrel fox and a fairy dragon raise some eyebrows as they fly around as a couple. Sye just shakes her head and laughs on her fiancée’s shoulder. The costume contest that follows the cosplay gets guest judged by Raven, Allia and Mrs. Kumichi. Mo gets swamped with requests from fans to look over scripts and artwork for future shows.
Mei and Hiro barely talk to each other through out and most of their friends think things are on the rocks.
Inferno, Fuzzy and the other fairy dragons surprise Mo, Raven and company by singing for them and the crowd.
Rea – Rea, Nyla, Kimiko and Kyosuke spend part of the time chasing after the three toddlers. Never place that much sugar in easy reach of children! Lim and Rayne approach Raven after one of the video presentations and want to talk about her plans for the ‘ Desert Hawk’. They quietly tell her that with the help of Nyla and Amilla they intend to do a little adventuring in the various dimensions and visit the old caretaker of the infinity prison as well as visit Allia’s parents in their home dimension. They ask her to keep mum about it as they really want to have time on their own with their children. They wish Raven all the luck in the world and welcome her to the family.
Before they depart they give Raven the access codes for the ‘Desert Hawk’ and tell her where it’s docked. It’s their wedding gift along with the home in the eastern province of Mo’s birth.
At the end of the convention Raven and Allia put on a very big show with Raven’s band.

September rolls around and the gang get ready for the last year of school together. The Senior welcome back dance is scheduled for the end of the month of September and, for most, college/university interviews begin in November with declaration fo intent for after winter break and graduation will be in May this year!
Mo gets a call that requests him to go out to the Rim for an interview as well as to introduce his new movie and show based around it.
Ayka gets a call from the ambassador of the Rim letting her know that all paper work cleared for her new galleries and they would like to schedule an opening for June of next year with a big parade and a television appearance.
Sye gets news from Nyla that her patents and copyrights are finalized and that if she wants she ahs her own building in which to do business for her inventions. She also asks if she can be a bridesmaid.

Editors notes:
Well folks it’s that time again. NDK is coming up and people are claming up over how they are going to this event or if they are interested. I shouldn’t be surprised. Even RMF had its share of problems finding folks to get organized who wanted to go so it could be more of a group party. Oh well…
On another note I do finally have one of he prizes for the big Trivia challenge ~ unless CoSp decides not to participate or Denver makes the same decision (shame if they do really as prizes normally would get anyone from either coast coming with bells on!) ~ .
This prize, prior to the one for December’s big party, is a Peach Girl pack with the fist volume of both the manga and the dvd and a carry all bag with an art box. I'm debating what I might do for the other prizes and if I want to put that much into this project as my hands are full with the Harry Potter Christmas/Winter Solstice/Winter break party which looks to be a really big event and lots of fun too! However, there is the election in November and we need a new president or one that can devout time accordingly to certain projects. I have a couple of candidates in mind but am looking to be sure.
I have stated that I will be devoting less time to the club and more to getting things done where I am with the house so I can move in due time. ~ yeah, I can hear the celebrating already “ Thank God the old codger is leaving!” or something to that affect.
I wouldn’t be half as cranky if I wasn’t as disappointed in the local fandom.
Let’s face it, nothing is truly free anymore and you can’t keep an overblown sense of entitlement forever. We all have to participate in some fashion in order to make things work – keeping quiet says/does nothing and criticism only destroys and never really creates.
So now what do you do? Don’t over fill your schedules, try to keep to things you are willing to devote your time and energy to and figure out what you really want to do and what makes you happy? Yup, in a word, that’s precisely right. Groups need group effort to stay alive – that’s why I like the Harry Potter bunch, everyone gets involved at one point or another and you can’t help but feel the energy of inspiration in the air and all around you as you really feel like you want to do something to make or keep things fun and not sit on the sidelines. ~ Thanks to Nikki for helping remember that lesson! I had almost forgotten what manic energy in a really positive way could feel like.
It always seems like I'm ranting with these editorials these days. Maybe it’s because I'm older and was raised differently but I can’t help but feel that it’s a crying shame and pity that so many talented folk can’t find it within themselves to want to do more and be more creative. To help out and make the groups that are already in existence better or present more options. Also to communicate those options clearly and with the desire to be understood instead of all the guess work. Why join up to anything if you aren’t prepared to speak in your own voice and communicate your wishes and your ideas? Karma is part farming and part sharing. If you want something you find others whose goals are similar and help them. You have knowledge and they have knowledge. Together you create new knowledge and understanding and make the idea or concept grow and make your goals that much closer to being achieved.
No one can do it alone, no one.
That’s my 2 pence worth and I'm sticking to it…
